The
Casale dello Sparviero is set in the hills of Castellina and located 10 km from Siena, in the central area of the Chianti Region in Tuscany. The estate is spread along 380 hectares and the vineyards are set at an altitude of 250 metres and are encircled by natural woods and other vegetation. The Casale dates back to the 16th century and it is on the vast grounds is where the sparrow-hawks have been making their nest for centuries. That’s why the sparrow-hawk is the symbol and trademark for the winery. According to the winery, the most characteristic and important element of wine making is the uniqueness of the “terroir”, in other words all the elements of the land (the soil’s texture, the pureness of the air, the water, the climate, the altitude and the sun light), which all come together to produce many high quality wines.
